We are a Solo Dermatologist practice and have been operating since 1999. Our staff are here to assist with your enquiry and arrange consultations in a timely manner. While we have both telehealth options and face-to-face consultations available, best practice is to have a face to face consultation especially for the first visit. We apologise however, we cannot make New patients appointments in 2023. When you ring us we will advise you of this and suggest other Dermatology practices that your GP may be able to refer you to instead.
Some patients may require scripts or blood test forms outside of appointments and these may be need to be faxed or emailed to the pharmacy or pathology company. A processing fee applies.

Dr Oziemski is involved in continuous medical education to keep up to date with the latest in available diagnostic methods and treatment options.
However we do not undertake treatment with laser or perform cosmetic procedures with injectables.
We have an extensive network for referral on for other treatment or surgery if needed and we do not charge for providing a referral to another medical practitioner.
Dr Margaret Oziemski Dermatologist has been in practice at Morris Towers since moving with her family from Melbourne.
Being an essential service we were able to keep consulting during COVID and took all the necessary steps to keep practising in such challenging times.
You will find we now have fewer chairs to allow for social distancing and unfortunately no magazines previously on display but what has not changed is a warm greeting when you arrive.
We appreciate if you update us on any changes in your details when you re-visit for easier contact and communication.

MONITORING OF MOLES AND LESIONS
If Dr Oziemski has taken pictures of any moles or lesions it maybe possible for you to take a picture and email that if you notice changes between your appointments.. Dr Oziemski may then discuss further management with you via the telephone or video link, depending on what you are capable of using, if you are unable to come into the office. It is however preferred to see changing pigmented lesions in a face -to-face consultation because other instruments may be needed to magnify the lesion as well as to perhaps collect a sample or a biopsy of the lesion.
SUNPROTECTION AND SUN SAFETY
And if you do have a yard and access to the outdoors, remember we do live in Queensland and sun protection may be very important for you to maintain all year round.
If you have a referral from your GP you may fax or email it to us and we will allocate an appointment. Please note as Doctor Oziemski is reducing to a 4 day working week, we may need to advise that you should be referred elsewhere as we are unable to see new patients in 2023.

We offer management for many acute conditions such as hand dermatitis which may be more common now we are all washing our hands more often or using hand sanitisers and may be caused by eczema or psoriasis.
Sometimes Dr Oziemski may ask you to email in photos of the lesion of concern or rash and discuss that with you via phone or video. However due to Changes in Telehealth item numbers, there may be a fee for communicating in this way if there is no valid referral.
It may be necessary to take a small skin sample or skin scraping and and a face to face consultation may need to also be arranged with Dr.
Sometimes removal of the mole or spot is needed and Dr Oziemski will discuss with you the best method to do so and provide you with a estimate of out of pocket costs if the procedure is done by Dr Oziemski. However you may wish to be referred to a Plastic Surgeon and Dr Oziemski will assist in providing you with a referral to allow the removal in a timely manner with the Surgeon or your general practitioner.
Many of the chronic skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis still require care and prescriptions may need to be filled. The video or phone consultation option may be perfectly suitable for communicating with Dr Oziemski in some cases but a face to face consult is optimal.

If you need a script outside of the consultation we may be able to fax or email a script to the chemist you usually use, however if we have not seen you for a while, Dr Oziemski would like to take a moment to talk to you and may need to ring you back if your enquiry is during her consultation with another patient.
Arranging scripts outside of appointments may incur a processing fee.

There is also available a medication only prescribed by the Dermatologist which is oral Isotretinoin and it needs monitoring with review visits and blood tests. As we have no further New Patient appointments in 2023, patients needing a New consultation for acne will be advised to be referred to another Dermatologist. Existing acne patients may be able to request subsequent review appointments via teleconsult some of the time. This will save time in parking and in transit so our fees are accordingly reduced. You will still receive the Medicare rebate that applies if you have a valid referral.
